National Payroll Certificates

There are three National Payroll Certificates (NPCs) available through the CIPP and successful completion of all three results in a QCF level three qualification delivered by Kaplan Professional Awards, an awarding organisation recognised by the qualification regulators.

The certificates available are:

  • Certificate (KPA Unit One): Introduction to PAYE and NICs
  • Certificate (KPA Unit Two): Introduction to Statutory Payments

  • Those who have had a career break and want a refresher

What my fees include?

  • Comprehensive study materials
  • Six months trial membership of the CIPP which includes:
    • Access to information and updates from our policy and research team, who represent our members at over 60 government consultation forums
    • Access to the CIPP Advisory Service available Monday to Friday to answer any questions that may arise relating to your payroll. This is one of the CIPP’s most popular member benefits as it saves you having to trawl through legislation to find the answers

Comments from individuals who attended the CIPP learning days in 2011

I did payroll in the 90’s and did this course to a) refresh my memory and fill in the parts I’d forgotten b) get me up to date with changes/legislation c) get qualifications for my cv. I thought the course overall was excellent for what I wanted and wasn’t complicated enough to be too hard but enough to get you thinking. Anon

Having worked in payroll for over 29 years I thought the course was extremely beneficial to both new payrollers and older ones like myself. It is a lot to take in but the trainer’s delivery of the course was excellent. Anon

Again another good course, with lots of relevant information to the role that I will be doing, course was delivered really well with lots of good opportunities to discuss scenarios. Anon

I had a really enjoyable and informative day. I came away with a much clearer view of deductions and how to process them. I found the year end section especially useful as this year will be my first one and I now feel much more confident! Anon
