What will I learn on this course?

Increasingly more and more professionals have to give formal presentations to provide information for management purposes, in meetings, at conferences and even interviewing procedures. Isn’t it time you stopped to analyse and develop your presentation skills to give a more professional first impression to people that matter?

This two day participative workshop will take you through all the steps necessary to give effective presentations from planning, through design to delivery.

Course content
 

• Starting point – video presentations with review and feedback
• Using your brain logically and creatively – business presentations don’t have to be boring!
• Where to start – preparing to present – the groundwork and avoiding ‘death by PowerPoint’
• Clarifying the purpose of your presentation – identifying objectives – what are you trying to achieve?
• Structuring your presentation for impact – how will your audience best absorb your information
• Making sure you are remembered - for the right reasons!
• Building audience recall – getting them to remember your main points
• Handling audience questions – maintaining control; inviting questions
• Rehearsal tips and body language – using notes, PowerPoint and flipcharts
• Controlling nerves – comforting thoughts and self-fulfilling prophecy
• Putting it all into practice – video presentations with review and feedback
• Self – analysis and action points

Course aims

On completion, delegates should be able to:

• Feel more confident when delivering a presentation and consciously use positive body language techniques for maximum impact
• Understand how to design and prepare a structured, creative presentation, suitable for the professional workplace – from an initial idea right through to delivery
• Handle their nerves more effectively and present in an assertive, relaxed style
