This course has been designed to assist in preparing for higher education and learning, specifically preparing potential students for the Foundation Degree, BA(Hons) in Applied Business and Management or MSc in Business and Reward Management, with the knowledge to understand how they learn and adopt methods to help them be successful in their future studies.
It focuses on the individual and increases their self-awareness about their learning styles, including tips and strategies for study.
Who is this certificate aimed at?
- This course aimed at those who would like to progress through qualifications but are concerned about higher education.
- It is also applicable to delegates of our training courses; helping them to learn more about themselves and how they learn.
What will I learn?
Course content
Pre-course work is sent out to students four weeks prior to the course. It comprises listening to six narrated presentations, making notes on these and completing workbook one, which involves some exercises and questionnaires.

After completing this course you will be able to:
- Identify your learning and academic reading and writing skills; establishing your current skills level
- Undertake practical exercises to consolidate previous learning and information
- Recognise a style of note-taking that is suitable for your own learning
- Interact with other learners to discuss and disseminate information
How much does it cost?
Progression
From this certificate, students can then proceed to do the BA (Hons) in Applied Business and Management then the MSc in Business and Reward Management.
Learners will be under no obligation to enrol onto the BA or the MSc, as they may discover they are not ready at this time but will prepare them for the future.
