What others did last year

On the 3 September the CIPP staff were greeted in the morning by some amazing staff from MHR who were doing a charity cycle for NPW to raise money for Rainbows Hospice.

Once we had refreshed and cheered on the MHR cyclists, it was time for CIPP staff to start their own celebrations. This year the carnival came to the CIPP: with classic carnival games ranging from hook a duck, tin can alley to splat the rat, all staff got involved and joined in the fun. But in true meaning of the week, our own payroll colleagues were gifted a lovely bunch of flowers each and also a million thank-yous from the staff.

Portfolio Payroll were proud to sponsor NPW 2019 and to celebrate the incredible commitment and passion of everyone involved in the payroll profession, as we explored the theme ‘keeping the UK paid’. A theme that continues to exemplify the amazing dedication and talent of payroll professionals across the country and the continued strides made by CIPP in promoting payroll.

“The level of engagement of payroll teams up and down the country and the support of a range of originations in celebrating NPW 2019 shone throughout the week. It was a chance to network, share ideas, discuss the future of payroll before launching the celebrations at The Savoy. Social media provided a perfect platform for us all to witness the fantastic ways in which the week was celebrated from charity fundraising, training and education initiatives through to team building events.

As we celebrated National Payroll Week across the country, it was a great pleasure to attend the fourth Scottish National Conference. This was an amazing opportunity for Ceridian to share our technology with payrollers and share knowledge and best practices with industry experts. No better way to celebrate than a meeting of minds.

National Payroll Week provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of the payroll industry and payroll professionals across the country, from those managing payroll for a large organisation or one of our own payroll team. It’s also given us the chance to network with other organisations and talk about the future of payroll.

First of all congratulations to the CIPP for the biggest National Payroll Week yet. This year we wanted to celebrate the hard work and positive impact payroll has within an organisation, as it is so often undervalued. So, we took a trip to Manchester – along with 200 individually boxed doughnuts – to celebrate with one of the largest payroll teams in the UK, Sainsbury’s.

Throughout the week we continued the celebrations in our offices with NPW cupcakes and attended a couple of events hosted by the CIPP, including the Future of Payroll roundtable and the launch event at The Savoy.

Well done to everyone involved and we look forward to next year’s celebrations.
