CONCERNS OVER THE CHANGES TO EMPLOYER SUPPORTED CHILDCARE

28 September 2010

In August the IPP Policy team and others including the Federation of Small Business (FSB) and four of the major childcare voucher providers attended a meeting with Westminster Advisors, a public affairs and communications management consultancy.  Westminster Advisors assist clients to work with government and discuss issues which impact on business.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss employer concerns relating to the impending changes to childcare vouchers scheduled for April 2011.  The IPP voiced the concerns of IPP members, in particular the lack of guidance that was promised for the summer.  This group worked together and discussions resulted in common concerns for all parties.

As a result a briefing document and covering letter (see below) have been compiled and on 24 September was submitted to HMRC for comment.  We eagerly await the HMRC response.
