The Government has just published 'Fuller Working Lives: A Framework for Action' which covers:

· encouraging people to remain in the labour market in their 50s and 60s,

· the economic case for working longer at an individual, business and societal level, and

· the Government's role in enabling the wider culture changes needed to realise a planned and secure retirement for all.

Universal Jobmatch - enhanced employer experience

 

Did you know....we have recently made a number of enhancements to Universal Jobmatch (UJ). We have introduced a number of new features that will help support your recruitment experience:

· To help you manage your end-to-end recruitment process online, enabled employers can now directly send one way messages to job seekers that have applied to their vacancies using Universal Jobmatch.

· Employer Advisers now have the facility to directly create and send messages to selected employers too; these could be to notify you of employment events or initiatives within your local area. These messages will appear on your homepage.

Flexible working

 

All employees, not just parents and carers, now have the right to request to work flexibly, and employers need to feel confident in handling flexible working requests reasonably. Acas have published a new Code of Practice and guidance on the right to request flexible working.

They have also published new guidance on considerations for home working, and areinviting comments about thison their blog page.Acastraining courses are available around the country coveringthe changes toflexible working.

All employees have the right to request flexible working. As an employer you don't have to say yes, but must give the request reasonable consideration.

Your views sought on young people and enterprise

 

The Enterprise Commission is exploring the opportunities, challenges and support needs of young people in setting up a business. The Commission is chaired by former Minister Chloe Smith MP with cross-party support. Share your views in a survey available until 4 July. Find out more.
