Keynote speaker announced for the Annual Conference and Exhibition

This year the Annual Conference and Exhibition will be returning to the prestigious Celtic Manor Resort, Wales on 4 and 5 October 2017.

We are also proud to announce that the keynote speaker for the Annual Conference will be is Sir Brendan Barber and we will be joined by Sir Trevor McDonald at this year’s Annual Excellence Awards.

Sir Brendan Barber has been chairman of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) since the beginning of 2014.  Most of his career was spent in the Trades Union Congress (TUC) from 1975 to the end of 2012, serving as TUC General Secretary from 2003.  During his time at the TUC he served on a number of public bodies including the Council of Acas, Sport England, the UK Commission on Employment and Skills, and the Court of Directors of the Bank of England from 2003-2012.

Since leaving the TUC, as well as acting as Acas Chairman, Sir Brendan has become Deputy Chairman of the Banking Standards Board (established in 2015), and in 2017 joined the newly established Board of BT Openreach.  He also serves on the Council of City, University of London, and the Board of Trustees of the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Brendan was knighted in 2013 for services to employment relations.

Our delegates will be receiving insights from leaders from the profession across the UK to further their knowledge of payroll and pensions, as well as a great networking forum for meeting peers.

We will be hearing from experts such as David Joy, Founder of First Actuarial LLP, Jade Linton, Sydney Mitchell LLP, Helen Hargreaves, CIPP and Neil Esslemonth, The Pensions Regulator among many others.
