Would doubling Statutory Paternity Pay cause financial hardship for your business?
29 April 2015
One of the pledges in the recently published Labour Manifesto 2015 is to double the length of statutory paternity leave and subsequently double the amount of statutory paternity pay.
The Labour Manifesto 2015 states:
More fathers want to play an active role in their children’s lives and families want to spend more time together with a new baby. So we will double the current two weeks of paternity leave to four weeks, and increase the amount of paternity pay from £140 to more than £260 a week. Many grandparents want to be more involved in caring for their grandchildren, and we will support them in doing so.
The CIPP would be interested to know what impact this increase on paternity leave and pay may have on business.
