Tenth Purple Book published

06 January 2016

The Purple Book is an annual publication which focuses on the risks faced by Defined Benefit pension schemes. 2015 has shown that trends have remained stable despite changes as a result of the introduction of pensions freedoms.

This is the tenth edition of the Pensions Universe Risk Profile (The Purple Book), a joint annual publication by the Pension Protection Fund (the PPF) and The Pensions Regulator (the regulator). The Purple Book focuses on the risks faced by Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes, predominantly in the private sector.

It shows that trends in DB pensions have remained stable, despite major shifts in the overall pensions landscape during 2015 as a result of pensions freedoms. With around 6,000 DB pension schemes in the UK, The Purple Book provides the most comprehensive view of the risks faced by these schemes.
