Automatic enrolment for the business adviser - TPR considers fruit pickers

News by email for business advisers is sent to over 15,000 business advisers, and includes news stories and updates on TPR tools and resources.

The June edition also includes details of a webinar What’s my role as a business adviser? This free, comprehensive webinar will begin at 2 pm on 14 July and is open to accountants, bookkeepers, payroll professionals and other business advisers.

TPR will be covering popular areas of concern which include:

  • Assessing and enrolling staff - who has duties and who is exempt?
  • The adviser’s role in helping their client choose a pension scheme

The webinar will be followed by a live Q&A session with TPR experts. Registration for the webinar is via the TPR website.

In the meantime, TPR’s news by email for employers highlights that 22 percent of employers surveyed by TPR who are due to stage between June and November this year haven’t yet drawn up a plan to get ready for their new automatic enrolment duties.

Domestic employers (care users) of carers who directly employ one or more people to provide them with care or personal assistance need to be aware that automatic enrolment duties will apply to them also. If the carer is provided by an agency or the local authority they will be considered to be an employer for the purposes of automatic enrolment and duties won't apply to the care user.
