20 December 2013
Virgin Media has obtained the prestigious Payroll Quality Partnership (PQP) accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP).
The Chartered Institute is also pleased to announce that Specsavers, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Oxford City Council, Liverpool Direct Ltd, CGI (formerly Logica UK Ltd), Menzies Chartered Accountants, NHS Shared Business Services and The Buccleuch Estates Limited have all been re-accredited.
The PQP award recognises organisations that apply best practice in the development of their payroll professionals to enable them to provide customers with the highest level of service.
The PQP accreditation scheme was launched in 2007 to provide a standard for performance management in payroll, encouraging organisations to maintain professional competence while enhancing and developing payroll skills and knowledge.
Mr Lindsay Melvin, Chief Executive of the CIPP, said: “We are absolutely delighted Virgin Media has now joined the ranks of organisations to achieve this respected accreditation. I would also like to commend the companies that have achieved PQP re-accreditation – their ongoing dedication to their payroll staff’s professional development is a testament to the success that PQP is today.”
Max Handforth, director of shared services at Virgin Media, said: "We’re delighted to receive PQP accreditation. This prestigious award is evidence of the ongoing development of our people and the team’s commitment to delivering an excellent payroll service.”
David Baker, Operation Development Director, HR Shared Services at CGI in the UK said, “We are delighted to achieve PQP re-accreditation, this reflects CGI’s commitment to quality and professionalism within our HR and Payroll Services Operation.”
Mary Hyland, Payroll Manager at CPS Pay & Benefits said: “The CPS Pay & Benefits team have worked hard over the past 2 years to maintain a high standard of professionalism together with continued; extensive support of staff development; during a busy time for all payroll departments due to the introduction of HMRC’s Real Time Reporting and Pension Auto Enrolment.
“Retaining PQP accreditation is a tangible credit to the teams continued commitment to learning and development whilst maintaining the provision of a quality service. Accreditation has supported the teams with its own infrastructure; highlighting the importance of developing the skills of all members whilst showcasing the quality service provided to the CPS by the team.”
