Withdrawal of Employer Alignment Submission (EAS)

During April 2017 we issued a news item from HMRC’s Software Developers Support Team (SDST) which gave advance warning that they were considering decommissioning the Employer Alignment Submission (EAS).
The SDST asked for payroll software developer’s views at that time and thank those of you who responded. SDST is now confirming that the EAS will be decommissioned during October 2017.
Since 21 September 2017, TPVS has no longer been recognising EAS messages, and from 16 October the EAS will be removed from the production environment. Any EAS submitted by your customers after that date will not be processed onto any of HMRC’s systems.
The number of EAS messages received by HMRC is extremely small so they anticipate the impact will be minimal; however you may receive contact from your customers because they don't get a success (or failure) message - this will not impact their ability to make any other RTI submissions.
