Keynote speaker confirmed at the Annual Conference and Awards

We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker at this year's Annual Conference and Exhibition is HMRCs Executive Chair and Permanent Secretary - Edward Troup.
Edward is a qualified solicitor with experience gained in the private sector at Simmons and Simmons, and as an adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and latterly as a Director General in HM Treasury.
HMRC’s Executive Chair and Permanent Secretary chairs the HMRC Board which in turn is responsible for shaping and developing the department’s strategy and, as HMRC’s most senior tax professional, oversees the department’s relationship with HM Treasury and provides tax policy advice to ministers.
The payroll sector administer payroll policies and tax processes which account for both a significant part of UK economic activity and a major proportion of UK tax receipts. Continuing the excellent working relationship between CIPP, its members and HMRC is a key element in sustaining growth – and tax receipts – at a time of domestic and international change.
