It is with great sadness that we announce that Helen Hargreaves will be leaving the CIPP on 31 March 2020. Helen has been associate director of policy for four years and has decided to turn her attention to focus on a better work-life balance so she can enjoy her home in Spain more often.

Helen has been a fundamental figure within the CIPP since joining the Institute from HMRC. She has represented CIPP members at government consultation forums, through speaking at various CIPP and industry events and by writing articles for Professional magazine, as well as other industry press.

Speaking on Helen’s departure, Ken Pullar FCIPP, CEO of the CIPP said: “Helen will be missed within the policy team, which is stronger as a result of her leadership over the past four years.  Helen has been a valuable member of the team and strengthened our relationships within government consultation forums during her time with the CIPP.”

To address the needs of the business and to ensure the policy function continues to reflect the needs of our members and represent payroll at government level, the CIPP shall introduce a policy and research officer. The two policy and research officer roles will report into the policy technical lead role, formerly known as the senior policy and research officer. The policy operations manager role remains as is; with the Advisory and materials teams still reporting into it.

I am sure that you will join me in wishing Helen the very best for the future.
