We are delighted to announce that one of The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) founding members, Gordon Cresswell, has been honoured today in the Kings Birthday Honours list, and received the Honour of The Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the payroll profession.

Gordon was instrumental in establishing the first representative voice for pay professionals in the UK and later played a pivotal role in securing Chartered status for the CIPP in 2011. He’s also been a tireless advocate for payroll education and for strengthening collaboration between the profession and Government.

And his influence has extended far beyond the UK. Gordon helped to establish both the Irish Payroll Association and the South African Payroll Association (SAPA). Through his vision and dedication, he’s been influential in raising the profile of payroll and ensuring it’s recognised as the vital profession it is today.

Congratulations, Gordon, from all of us at the CIPP!
