Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Update from the CIPP

13 March 2020

The CIPP recognise that our members, students and those attending events and training courses have several questions and concerns with regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Your safety is our top priority. Therefore, we are contacting you to let you know about the precautions we are taking at forthcoming events.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) – your guide to attending CIPP events

1. Wash your hands regularly

2. Delegate greetings – be mindful that people may not be comfortable with shaking hands or other close contact greetings at this time.

3. Only attend if you feel well - individuals who are experiencing Coronavirus-like symptoms (fever, cough or chest tightness, shortness of breath) to respect official guidance and self-isolate for seven days.

For advice on how to self-isolate, Public Health England has released new guidance (click link) for those staying at home with confirmed or suspected cases of coronavirus.

4. Keep in touch - at present, we are planning for ‘business as usual’ and all CIPP events and training courses are going ahead as planned. However, this is a live situation, and we will be continually monitoring and referring to the advice given by the government. We will, of course, keep you updated should the situation change. Please keep an eye on CIPP communication channels (for example, News Online e-newsletter, website, email and our social media channels) for live updates on any changes.
