CIPP recently surveyed members to collect views on HMRC’s consultation about collecting debts direct from bank accounts, and have now published their response. At the same time Keith Gordon, a barrister, argues in a “Taxation” article that the proposed new powers are excessive.
We have previously published details of HMRC’s consultation document, and the CIPP’s response has now been published here .
The “Taxation” article provides one particularly strong view on the proposal, raising concerns from a slightly different angle to CIPP’s.
