Defined contribution pension review launched
26 November 2014
The Pensions Institute at Cass Business School have launched a review of the future of retirement incomes from defined contribution pension schemes.
The review is part of an independent review commissioned earlier this year by Labour's shadow pensions secretary, Rachel Reeves. Among the questions the team will be considering is how to design a pension system that produces lifelong retirement incomes that are more predictable than existing systems
The TUC have welcomed the review, commenting that there is an urgent need to ensure that low and middle earners who are starting pension savings thanks to automatic enrolment can turn them into reliable income in retirement.
