Election majority for the Conservatives
08 May 2015
David Cameron will continue for the next five years as Prime Minister after the Conservative Party secured an unexpected overall majority in the General Election.
Labour and Liberal Democrat leaders Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg have both stepped down from their positions after their disappointing results.
And in Scotland the Scottish National Party (SNP) has achieved an unexpected landslide, winning all bar three seats which will certainly give Holyrood a bigger voice in Westminster.
It is safe to say that the political landscape has changed overnight. The CIPP Policy Team will be watching the events of the coming weeks and months carefully to see what unfolds and what impact the changes in government may have on the payroll and pensions industry and on employers as a whole.
We will keep readers posted.
