Gender Pay Gap: Large employers to publish bonus information
30 October 2015
Further steps have been announced by government to eradicate gender pay inequality and remove barriers to women’s success in the workplace.
In July 2015, the Prime Minister announced his plans to end the gender pay gap in a generation and to build on this, the government is now pledging to:
- force larger employers to publish information about their bonuses for men and women as part of their gender pay gap reporting
- extend the plans for gender pay gap reporting beyond private and voluntary sector employers to include the public sector
- work with business to eliminate all-male boards in the FTSE 350.
These announcements are part of wider plans, which will be set out shortly, to help women and BME groups across Britain as part of this government’s determination to extend opportunity to all.
A consultation which concluded in September asked employers and employees for their views on how, when and where the data should be published. New regulations which set out how this will work in practice will be set out in due course.
