Consultation on closing the Gender Pay Gap
15 July 2015
A consultation has been published which seeks views on what more government can do to close the gender pay gap.
The Conservative’s manifesto made a commitment to require private and voluntary sector employers in England, Scotland and Wales with more than 250 employees to publish the difference between the average pay of their male and female employees.
The Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015 brings into force s.78 of the Equality Act 2010 which includes the power for this requirement.
This consultation will run until 6 September 2015.
CIPP comment The Policy Team will be studying the consultation, and if appropriate will issue a survey in due course to gather members’ views. |
