Guy Opperman returns to the Department for Work and Pensions

Guy Opperman has confirmed, on Twitter, that he is returning to a role in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Opperman left the role of pensions minister back in September 2022, and it was confirmed that Alex Burghart would be the minister for pensions and growth on 12 October 2022. Opperman previously resigned from the pensions minister role on 7 July 2022 but was reinstated the next day following former prime minister, Boris Johnson’s resignation.
Announcing the news, he stated:
“Delighted to be appointed by HM The King as Minister of State at DWP in the PM’s new Government. Lots of work to do and I look forward to working with the new Secretary of State “
