HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is warning of a newly identified scam email targeting the recipients government gateway log in-details.
The emails ask the recipient to “update their records” which are “out of date” or refer to a “self-assessment online profile”.
HMRC has posted details on Twitter and other social media accounts to alert customers. There is also a guidance page available on how to identify scams and phishing attempts.
Pass on this information to employees and colleagues to spread the word and protect against these scams.
