HMRC enhance online payment service
20 May 2015
HMRC has further developed its online payment service which will eventually replace Billpay.
HMRC introduced a new payment service in December 2014. Developments to the service mean it now accepts credit Visa and MasterCard and debit card payments for Self Assessment, VAT and Corporation Tax. The payment service will soon accept Employers’ PAYE, Stamp Duty Land Tax and some miscellaneous payments by credit and debit card.
Customers can find the service on GOV.UK and are seamlessly transferred to new payment screens, operated by Worldpay so you may be directed to WorldPay if you pay online by debit or credit card.
Customers can continue to pay HMRC by debit and credit card using the Billpay service, hosted by Santander Corporate Banking. The new service will eventually replace Billpay for all debit and credit card payments to HMRC.
Customers have told HMRC they are happy with the service, and they are making further improvements by listening and acting on feedback.
