The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced the next phase in the Jobs Guarantee scheme, giving a fully funded six-month job to young people in long-term unemployment, expanding to a national rollout from November 2026.

It follows the completion of the first phase, launched in April, delivered by appointed Delivery Partners in six local areas. This allowed DWP to test the scheme and they have confirmed there has been strong demand, and the first group of young people have now started their jobs through the programme, with more scheduled to start.

The scheme offers a guaranteed, fully funded six-month paid job for an individual aged 18-24 who have been claiming Universal Credit and looking for work for at least 18 months. The Government will fund all employment costs for up to 25 hours a week at the relevant minimum wage rate, alongside tailored support to help participants and hopefully progress into sustained employment.

The national rollout will now expand to 25 delivery areas across the UK. The DWP is looking for Delivery Partners with the capability and local expertise to be responsible for sourcing jobs, matching referred participants to jobs, and providing support to both the individual and the employers across their delivery area. The application window will be open until 9am Monday 13 July 2026.
