A paperless payroll department
07 May 2015
One of our members recently asked through Members Voice if anyone would be willing to share how they managed to move away from hard copy starter, leaver and change of terms and conditions, to a system where these types of instructions are received in soft copy.
Our member was particularly interested in looking at this from an audit and authorisation point of view.
We highlighted to the member our coincidental article on this very subject in our May edition of Professional in Payroll, Pensions & Reward. Our chief PAS (Payroll Assurance Scheme) assessor, Don McArthur has started a short series of articles inspired by his journey through PAS so far. The first article is on page 12 – ‘PAS in search of the paperless payroll’.
Our magazine is available online. Visit the CIPP website to download.
Several members have also placed comments on this topic. Visit Members Voice (under Membership/My CIPP) on the CIPP website to view comments.
Further information on PAS
The CIPP Payroll Assurance Scheme has been developed to provide payroll departments with assurance that:
- Their payroll and associated processes are fit for purpose and comply with government legislation
- They have the right payroll activities in place
- They have suitable processes in place for picking up and preparing for legislative changes
The Payroll Assurance Scheme will also highlight areas for development and improvement and help organisations prepare for an HMRC audit.
Visit the CIPP Services area of our website for further details on PAS.
