Opportunity for full and fellow CIPP members to attend Policy Think Tank discussing holiday pay guidance

23 November 2016

As a follow up to an earlier policy Think Tank in January this year, we are holding two further CIPP Think Tanks to discuss the type of official guidance which would be useful when calculating holiday pay.

With the increasing number of judgements being made on what payments should and should not be used when calculating holiday pay, the payroll industry has been struggling because there is an absence of detailed guidance explaining how payroll practitioners should actually go about undertaking these calculations.

As representatives from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) are now looking to work on this much needed guidance they are keen to learn from you what the real world challenges of holiday pay are, such as unusual working patterns etc.

The aim of these Think Tanks is to provide BEIS with as many examples as we can so that they, in conjunction with ACAS, are in the best position to produce clear and comprehensive guidance for calculating holiday pay.

To encourage debate and participation, these CIPP Think Tanks will take the form of a round-table forum, so numbers are strictly limited and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The CIPP Think Tanks will be held in:

     o   Leeds on 1 December 2016

o   London on 7 December 2016 - now fully booked

To secure your place on one of these Holiday Pay Think Tanks please email us no later than Tuesday 29 November, stating clearly which event you would like to attend.
