The government has announced that as part of a new amendment to the Employment Rights Bill, Pregnancy Loss Bereavement Leave rights are to be extended.

Currently families that suffer a pregnancy loss after 24 weeks of pregnancy are entitled to bereavement leave. The new measures will ensure that employees who experience a loss at any stage of pregnancy are eligible to protected bereavement leave, to allow the time to grieve during such a difficult time.
