With the Treasury Committee looking at AI in financial services, the policy team wanted to understand how payroll teams are using AI in their processes.

We asked if you were using, or had plans to use, AI in your payroll processes. Here are the results:

As you can see, the majority of payroll teams responding have no plans to implement AI, and those teams that do have plans but are yet to make moves outnumber those who have already implemented in some way.

Of those who have implemented AI, over half indicated that they are using features within an already utilised software. This may indicate that teams are willing to try new AI technology, but are reluctant to procure bespoke solutions outside of what’s on offer from their current suppliers.

Thank you for your responses, we will continue to keep an eye on how AI is used within the industry and make sure payroll is considered with government policy.
