CIPP Quick Poll ? Higher Apprenticeships and the National Minimum Wage

13 January 2015

The CIPP Policy team have put together a quick poll to gather yes/no views as to the admin burden created by Higher Apprenticeships and payment of the National Minimum Wage.

The question asked in the Quick Poll is Would you have any concerns if Higher Apprentices were paid at the appropriate age NMW rate rather than the apprentice rate? Possible answers being Yes or No and at this stage the Quick Poll is simply that – a straw poll to gather your immediate responses.

If your answer is yes and you would like to add more explanation or reasoning for this, please email Samantha Mann at the [email protected] entering NMW and Higher Apprenticeship in the subject line. Equally with a ‘No’ answer you might also want to add some depth to your response in which case we would value hearing from you as to the impacts, if any, of paying a Higher Apprentice at the appropriate age NMW rate rather than the apprentice rate.

Further information about Higher Apprentices is available in the Employer guide which can be accessed at GOV.UK.
