Get connected!

The Connection Vouchers Scheme has been launched in 22 cities to help SMEs access faster and better broadband. The scheme provides grants of up to £3,000 to cover capital connection costs and is administered by the 22 cities through over 420 registered suppliers. Benefits of taking a voucher include growth and access to new markets through better communication with customers and suppliers, increased security through fast secure back-up of data, and increased productivity and improved customer service through faster upload and download speeds. The scheme remains open for applications until 31 March 2015.

Part of SuperConnected Cities, one of 3 key projects comprising the SuperFast Britain programme, the Government has invested over £1billion, administered by Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), to transform Britain with enhanced broadband and mobile infrastructure.

Shared Parental Leave

The Government is reforming the statutory pay and leave entitlements available to employed parents. For babies due on or after 5 April 2015, a new entitlement of Shared Parental Pay and Leave (ShPP/SPL) will replace Additional Statutory Paternity Pay and Leave (ASPP/APL). This aims to help businesses keep their best talent and allow employers to recruit with confidence, as it is hoped that employees will be less likely to drop out of the workforce when they have children.
