A motivational session with Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards

The CIPP are delighted to welcome Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards to deliver a motivational talk at the Annual Conference and Exhibition. Eddie is Great Britain's first Olympic Ski Jumper and despite coming last in both the 70m and 90m ski jumping events, Eddie captured the imagination of the British public.

A debate on "Do you consider payroll professionals to be tax advisers?"

Join Simon Parsons, Director UK Compliance Strategies at SD Worx, and Louise Gray, Head of Transitions and Operations at EY Payroll Operate, as they debate whether payroll professionals should be considered to be tax advisers. The debate will be chaired by CIPP's policy lead, Samantha Johnson.

A discussion on Raising Standards and Professionalism

Hosted by CIPP's Business Development Director, Vickie Graham, join Deputy President at CIOT, Susan Ball, and past CIPP Chair, Jason Davenport, as they discuss raising the standards within the payroll industry. What should payroll professionals be considering? What are the priorities and challenges? Susan and Jason will answer these questions plus any questions from attendees.

Termination considerations in conjunction with CIPP training

Join Faye Law, Acas Senior Adviser & Conciliator, and Fiona Smith, CIPP trainer, for an update on the principles of a fair dismissal process including reasons for dismissal and how to avoid discrimination, some points to note following Covid and determining final dates. Fiona will also provide a short training style session on the practical implications this has on termination payments.

National Minimum Wage

Compliance with NMW regulations is becoming ever more difficult. During this session, Jeni Morris, senior manager at Ernst & Young, will provide an update on the latest changes as well as highlight the issues to be aware of and how to avoid them.

CIPP Policy update

Join the CIPP's Policy team, Samantha Johnson, Lora Murphy and Gemma Mullis and hear the latest on upcoming changes to legislation and Government consultations.
