According to Office for National Statistics (ONS) the UK’s inflation rate has dropped to 3%.The decrease is mainly due to transport, food and non-alcoholic drinks.
Economists are predicting that inflation will continue to fall this year, leading to predictions that the interest rate will continue to fall. The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet next month to decide on the Bank Rate. We will learn their decision on 19th March 26.
The next Consumer Price Index (CPI) update is due to be released on 26 March 2026.
