Available to anyone who is new, or has an interest, in pay.

Also available:
Affiliate student
Free apprentice student affiliate (level 3)

Open to pay professionals who hold a level 3 or 4 pay qualification or have a minimum of 1 year's experience in pay.

Also available:
Associate student
International associate
Retired associate

Available to those with a level 5 pay qualification or those who can demonstrate three year's experience managing pay.

Also available:
International full
Retired full

Awarded to individuals who hold a CIPP Level 6 or 7 qualification, or who have maintained Full Membership for at least two years and can demonstrate contributions to the CIPP and the wider profession that go above and beyond their day-to-day role

Also available:
Retired fellow

Applicants must have held Full Membership for at least two years.

Chartered Membership is available via the Qualified (Level 5+ payroll qualification) or Experience routes.

Both require senior-level experience in strategy, transformation, and director-level responsibility.

There is an admin fee of £50 for new members and members returning after more than six weeks. This applies to all member grades. Current members applying to upgrade to full, fellow or Chartered level will be charged an application fee. See grades for details.
