Our Advisory Service team's aims
They hope to develop a strong working relationship with our members through a system of trust, professionalism, and open communication. The team's background and experience come from their time in operational payroll which allows them to understand the many problems you encounter in your day-to-day roles and have most likely been in similar situations!
How they stay up-to-date
Seeing as the team's duty is to ensure they're supplying our members with the correct, up-to-date information, they're constantly upskilling. They regularly check their understanding of guidance published by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) so they can assist members and put things into practice for them. They also take time out to develop knowledge for their continuing professional development (CPD) by researching a chosen subject area.
They also work very closely with the policy and research team and materials and training team where to gain awareness, they regularly share knowledge and exchange helpful feedback.
Helping members to ensure compliance with payroll legislation will always be the team's main ambition and this has been crucial in recent years. The team has a responsibility to ensure companies comply with legislation that affects them, including:
- National Minumum Wage (NMW)
- The apprenticeship levy
- Statutory payments
