HMRC has announced a change to fuel rates for petrol, diesel and electric cars, confirming the advisory fuel rates to be used from 1 September 2025. You can use the previous rates for up to one month after the new rates apply.

HMRC Advisory Fuel Rates for Electric Cars
The fully electric car advisory rate now have a split depending on charging location.
The public Charger Rate was updated on 26 August 2025 from 12p to 14p.
