Following ongoing feedback from organisations and taxpayers having complex issues with the Real Time Information (RTI) system. Policy and research officer, Mathew Akrigg has spent the last 18 months investigating and has today (28 February 2025) released his findings in a report titled: “Systemic issues in HMRC Real Time Information (RTI) data collection and customer experience when seeking resolution”
Mathew has worked tirelessly to understand the variety of issues encountered with RTI system and how we can work with both the profession and HMRC to achieve a mutual beneficial solution.
Everyone at the CIPP is incredibly proud of the time and dedication that Mathew has given this project, in a bid to represent and support payroll professionals across the UK, while continuing to work as a critical friend of HMRC.
