CIPP policy think tanks on Tuesday 3 September

27 August 2019

Further to the consultation documents published last month on ‘Establishing a Single Enforcement Body for employment rights’ and ‘Measures to address one-sided flexibility’ the CIPP are holding two think tanks in London on Tuesday 3 September.

Invitations have gone out to all CIPP Full, Fellow and Chartered members but just in case it has missed your inbox, there are still a few spaces available. Details are as follows:

Join with other CIPP members and meet representatives from BEIS (Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) on Tuesday 3 September 2019 to discuss the detail presented in the following consultation papers.

(AM) Establishing a Single Enforcement Body for employment rights looks at:

  • Extended state enforcement – including holiday pay for vulnerable workers and enforcement of SSP (currently dealt with by HMRC)
  • Providing a strong single brand to improve the experience for both employer and employee alike
  • Closer working and greater co-ordination between enforcement partners

Full details can be found within the consultation document.

A survey is also currently available on the CIPP website for you to share your views and experience.

(PM) Measures to address one-sided flexibility looks at:

  • Workers who would be eligible
  • The impact on employers and workers in different sectors
  • How to plan or organise reasonable notice periods with record keeping
  • How to pay and manage compensation payments
  • Possible excluded bodies – and why?

Full details can be found within the consultation document.

A survey is also currently available on the CIPP website for you to share your views and experience.
