In March the government published a consultation to seek views on the proposed measures of the Equality (Race and Disability) Bill.

The Bill will extend mandatory pay gap reporting to include ethnicity and disability. The existing gender pay gap reporting has been a requirement for large business since 2017.

The government are considering the use of a similar framework to that already used in the existing gender pay gap reporting. The question in the consultation reflect this, while considering the distinct intricacies for ethnicity and disability, particularly around data collection and analysis.

The consultation is now closed, the CIPP’s response is available on the policy hub of our website for everyone to read, along with all the other consultations and calls for evidence that we have responded to.

Keep an eye out for future consultations and let us know if there are any you would like to have your input in on.
