The Home Office has confirmed that fines will be tripled for employers who allow workers with no right to work in the UK to work for them. There are also increases in the fines payable by landlords who rent to illegal migrants.

A first breach fine will be increased from up to £15,000 per worker, to up to £45,000 per worker. Repeated offences will also carry a fine of up to £60,000 per worker.

Also confirmed by the Home Office, a consultation is coming on options to strengthen action against employers who hire illegal workers.

There are right to work resources on gov.uk, don’t get caught out and risk hefty fines, which are set to become heftier.
