A House of Commons research briefing has been released looking into the rise of flexible working.

In 2021 a HSBC survey found that flexible working and salary were seen as equally important, 35% of businesses stated this as important.
Office for National Statistics (ONS) data in the briefing shows that employees who work in their own home has quadrupled from 5.1% in 2019 to 21.2% in 2023. In June 2021, 24% of businesses told the ONS that they intend to use homeworking as a permanent model going forward, with 80% of businesses saying they saw improved staff wellbeing.
