HMRC updates list of tax avoidance schemes, promoters, enablers and suppliers

08 July 2022

Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has updated its list of named tax avoidance schemes, promoters, enablers and suppliers.

HMRC continues to crack down on tax avoidance scheme promoters as it warns all of engaging with yet more tax avoidance firms. Individuals are urged to withdraw engagement and contact HMRC as soon as possible. Since HMRC has been granted powers to publicly name tax avoidance schemes and their promoters, no less than seven have been added to the list. Although the list is not exhaustive, it will continue to be updated as HMRC closes in on similar firms.

This year has seen increased activity on this front, with HMRC running a Tax Avoidance – Don’t Get Caught Out campaign, which is designed to help people stay clear of tax avoidance schemes.
