HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will be updating a series of enhancements to the Employers PAYE for agents online service in the coming weeks.

These updates are designed to provide clearer, more detailed information to support smoother reconciliation and year‑end processing.

A new credit allocation page is currently in development. While it will retain key features of the existing ‘payment history’ page – including annual and monthly breakdowns showing where credits have been allocated – it will also provide additional information:

  • Where each credit originated

  • How it has been allocated, with full detail.

This update is expected to go live before the end of the current tax year.

End of tax year adjustments will also see an improved breakdown on the agent portal. According to HMRC, only a small proportion of employers submit end of tax year adjustments, and even a smaller number submit multiple adjustments. Currently the ‘Annual Statement’ page displays only a single combined figure for all end of year adjustments plus any associated interest charges.

To improve transparency, HMRC will introduce an additional link showing:

  • A summary of all charges

  • A detailed breakdown of each individual charge included in that summary.

This update is expected to go live early in the new tax year.
