According to Office for National Statistics (ONS) the UK’s inflation rate has increased to 3.4%.The increase is partly due to higher costs of alcohol, tobacco products and travel over the Christmas and New Year period.

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) are set to next meet in two weeks two decided on the Bank Rate. We will learn their decision on 5th February 26.

The next Consumer Price Index (CPI) update is due to be released on 18 February 2026.
