The figures, released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), show that inflation for the month up to June 2025 has increased up to 2.6%. This is up from 3.4% in the month to May 2025.

The Bank rates, decided by the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, will next be considered for change on 7 August 2025. It may be less likely that we see a rate cut with this higher than expected inflation figure.
