15 July 2025
In a recent statement from James Murray, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, it was confirmed that Legislation Day will take place on 21 July 2025.
Legislation Day, or L Day, is a day set aside by government to release draft regulations, consultations and other items for public feedback. This is largely done to separate such things from other financial and fiscal events, such as budgets, released by government.
This L Day will take place the day before government goes on recess on 22 July, giving us plenty of time to dive into the details. We expect to hear more about some of the plans for the Employment Rights Bill which are to be implemented in April 2026 as well as some items, like payrolling benefits, which are due to come into force in April 2027.
