New Quick Poll: HMRC CJRS correspondence

26 July 2021

Have you had to place employees on furlough, and claim through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) at any point during the pandemic? If so, have you received any letters from HMRC requesting information relating to your claims? We want to hear from you!

The CIPP’s Policy team has posted a new Quick Poll for payroll professionals to respond to, which asks precisely this question. The team wants to explore how extensive HMRC’s compliance work has been to date, as the newly formed Taxpayer Protection Taskforce starts looking into the use of measures implemented by government to help individuals and businesses through the outbreak of coronavirus, to ensure that they have been used correctly.

We are aware that payroll teams are extremely busy, partly due to dealing with ongoing CJRS claims, but the latest Quick Poll will take less than a minute to respond to, and will form part of exciting research into the future of CJRS compliance checks.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond!
