The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is currently seeking feedback on the level of income replacement available to low earners when the Lower Earnings Limit is removed for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) eligibility.

You can read the consultation for more of an overview of the information they seek. It is worth nothing that the level could be set at any percentage, the illustrative examples given in the documentation are not representative of any government plans.

The rate should be balanced to provide adequate income protection without being overly burdensome on employers. This difficult consideration is why the government wants your opinions on the matter.

The current quick poll asks at what percentage of their average weekly earnings those earning below the current rate should be paid at when taking sick leave. Please enter a number between 1 and 100.

As always, thank you in advance for taking part. This quick poll will feed into our consultation response and influence government policy.
