The government has announced that today (4 March 2025) they will table some amendments to the Employment Rights Bill currently making its way through parliament.
As well as the amendments, responses to five consultations will be released to give background information on the amendments being put forward. Those consultations are:
- Application of zero hours contracts measures to agency workers
- Strengthening remedies against abuse of rules on collective redundancy
- Creating a Modern Framework for Industrial Relations
- Strengthening Statutory Sick Pay
- Tackling non-compliance in the umbrella company market
The policy team will keep an eye on the release of these consultations to extract the information key to compliance and understanding when working in payroll.
