Quick Poll results: Would you consider changing pay frequencies to assist with employee’s finances?

13 September 2022

Our last quick poll asked the question “To assist with employee financial wellbeing, would your company consider a change in pay frequency to certain employees/clients? (e.g. weekly or fortnightly)”.

Here are the results:

Answer

Result

Yes

20%

No, will not consider

74%

No, already pay employees/clients weekly

6%

With almost three quarters saying they wouldn’t consider the options this is the overwhelming majority. Of course, changing pay frequencies can be a huge undertaking for larger businesses, can cause payment issues and may come at considerable cost. It is therefore understandable that many companies would not be willing to make this move.

However, 20% of respondents who are willing to make that change is not insignificant. It shows the focus that is currently on employee financial wellbeing and the focus that will continue to grow in the future.

There are other methods for supporting financial wellbeing, the CIPP encourages businesses to explore their options.

Thank you to all respondents of this quick poll.
